Pastor Nix was playing the keyboard and singing with all of his heart, the presence of the Lord was moving, and surprises were on the way. Then footsteps were heard coming down the hall into the sanctuary and in walked an older feller who had a big beard who was dressed like a motorcycle biker. After song service had ended Pastor welcomed the man and asked him what his name was he hesitated a moment and then stuttered Rainbow uh Rainbow Scooter. He stayed the whole service and amen the sermon and seemed to enjoy himself. After service we really found out what Rainbow Scooter's intention was, he needed a shower! He also described to us how he was bicycling across America for some purpose I cannot remember, he also told of how he wanted to get into the local paper, how he was baptized, but mainly of how he needed a shower. Pastor took him where he could find a shower, years have passed now and we haven't heard from Rainbow. Except for an article that was published a few weeks later with Rainbow's picture in there, but his name wasn't Rainbow Scooter, the article went on to describe what his mission was and where he was headed. You may not find this post very amusing or interesting, but I have always promised my Pastor that If I ever write a book I will write a chapter dedicated to the interesting appearance and name of Rainbow Scooter. Since I am in no time soon going to publish any book, I do dedicate this post to my Pastor, thank you pastor for taking Rainbow to a place to find a shower, I am sure it lasted him the next hundred miles! So my friend this all goes to show you how we meet all kinds of people from every walk of life, but if Rainbow shows up you might have to do more than Preach the Gospel, you might have to take Rainbow to go get a shower and meanwhile buy some air freshener for the sanctuary!
